🌞 Where We've Been

Since our last catch-up in April, we've been soaking up the vibes in the Daintree and Cape Tribulation, mixing jungle time with reef time. The weather was a bit wild with wind and rain, but the sun finally decided to join the party, treating us to some epic glass-off days!

Highlights:

  • Silky Oaks Lodge: We indulged in luxury with a three-night stay at this 5-star retreat while shooting a photography campaign. Keep an eye out for our Instagram carousel and reel coming soonβ€”it was a blissful escape from our usual sea-bound life!

  • Glass-Off Days: Nothing beats those calm, glassy ocean days. Check out the vid below taken from Mackay Cay yesterdayβ€”it was an absolutely stunning day.

  • Hiking the Daintree: Exploring the Daintree has been incredible. We've been making our own paths through the ancient rainforest, following creeks to find hidden waterholes and waterfalls. We've loved swimming in the fresh water and spotting the unique land creatures and plants that call this ancient rainforest home.

πŸ“Έ Custom Fine Art Prints

Releasing our online print store has been a project in the making for about a year and a halfβ€”maybe even longer, haha. Despite our efforts, it's still not launched.

Why the delay? Well, we nearly had the store ready over a year ago but encountered some setbacks that made us pause and reconsider:

Initially, we printed a selection of sample prints that turned out stunning. And, initially, we weren't planning to offer framed options, believing that framing should be a personal choice.

However, after receiving the print samples we ordered, we explored framing options ourselves and quickly discovered how challenging it was to find frames that met our standards. We didn't want our customers to face the same struggle, so we set out to find a skilled framer. After a lot of searching, we found an amazing local framer in Port Douglas, Far North Queensland, who handcrafts exquisite frames using beautiful timbers. They also offer complete customization, allowing for truly unique and special pieces. We're thrilled about this change, but switching framers means we'll need to revise our website copy. Plus, since it's been a year and a half, our artistic direction has changed, so we're also planning to retire some of the prints we originally intended to release and replace them with new ones that we believe are simply stunning.

  • Photography Jobs: Capturing and editing stunning images for state and local tourism boards, especially with the End of Financial Year rush (aka. expiring budgets) in full swing.

  • Editing for Clients: We've been editing Instagram reels from YouTube videos for popular YouTube channels and providing photography and editing services for tourism businesses, resorts, etc.

We never know, haha. We're soaking up Cape Trib for another week or two; then it's wherever the windβ€”and our whimsβ€”take us next!
