Firstly, a warm welcome to all our new email subscribers! It's been incredible to see this list grow – thank you for joining us on this journey. We're aware many of you are eagerly awaiting the launch of our print store. It's been a bit delayed, but we're steadily working on it and can't wait to bring you some amazing artwork in 2024!

Weathering the Storms: Cyclones and Flooding!

Life has been quite the rollercoaster lately: cyclones and flooding! As you might have seen on social media, we recently faced our first cyclone on a sailing boat and are currently dealing with some intense flooding. But we're safe and sound, just a tad damp and perhaps a bit loopy. πŸ€ͺ

Amidst these natural challenges, the unity in the Cooktown community has been heartwarming. Strangers becoming helping hands, locals offering shelter, and everyone rallying together to support each other – it truly showcases the strength of humanity during tough times.

Post-Storm Plans: A Tropical Christmas πŸŽ…πŸŒ΄

What's on the horizon once the storms pass? Well, once the weather settles, we plan to sail back north and base ourselves at the breathtaking Lizard Island for a few more weeks - sailing north and out to the reef from there when the weather provides the right windows! There's a group of us aiming to celebrate Christmas together on the beach (fingers crossed for sunshine! 🌞).

However, we're taking things as they come. We're currently waiting on watermaker parts in Cooktown and will most likely face delays due to the weather. There's also talk of Cyclone Jasper possibly making a return. I could reintensify in the gulf and come back this way, so we're keeping a close eye on that.

  • "Deep" by James Nestor: Hayden's diving into this book, which explores the science and history of freediving, the extraordinary abilities of human divers, and what the ocean teaches us about ourselves.

  • The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari" by Robin Sharma: Lily tackled this book, which narrates a lawyer’s journey toward spiritual awakening and self-discovery after selling all his possessions and embarking on a Himalayan journey. It wasn't a favorite, a bit long and wishy-washy, but it still offered some valuable takeaways.

  • "Tools of Titans" by Tim Ferris: Before that, Lily delved into this book which compiles the author's interviews with successful individuals, offering insights, tips, and life lessons. The first section, focusing on athletic stars, was incredibly inspiring, and I found plenty of valuable takeaways from their stories.

Currently, a thought-provoking quote that's caught our attention:
