Good morning!

And Happy New Year! We hope your NYE rocked and that any post-celebration grogginess didn't stick around for too long! Can you believe how fast 2023 zipped by? Well, here we are in 2024, geared up for more adventures and good times!

We're heating up πŸ”₯

This summer's been toasty! We've been cooling off with dips off the back of the yacht, lots of freediving and spearing, and spending heaps of time on the fliteboard (electric foil). There are loads of jellyfish in the water, though, so it's full wetsuit mode for us at the moment. Even then, our faces are taking some hits! πŸ₯΄πŸͺΌ

Since the cyclone and flooding passed, the water took a few days to clear up, but then when it did, we've had great weather for freediving and spearing. I (Hayden) speared my first crayfish the other dayβ€”yeeww! So that's tonight's dinner sorted!

Right now, we're sailing further north from Lizard Island, eager to explore more remote northern outer reefs and the Flinders group. We're also on the hunt for an old glass fishing buoyβ€”a rare find these days.

Cyclone and Flooding Update

Fun Fact

Before plastic was such a big thing, fishermen would get hand-blown glass buoys for their nets.

To find a rare gemβ€”a glass fishing buoy. We need to go climbing through the mangroves and look at places where no one has ever been!

We're always on the hunt for one, so soon, with good weather, we can head further north and continue the hunt!

New Years Resolutions

Lily and I have had our share of challenges lately, but we're using that energy for change. Perfect timing with the New Year, right? Here are our resolutions:

  • Wake up earlier for workouts.

  • Get into selling digital products

  • Launch our print store.

  • Travel internationally.

  • Take on/create new experiences and adventures.

  • Dance more.

  • Make an effort to connect with more like-minded people.

  • Spend more time near the surf.

  • More yoga and acro yoga.

  • Enjoy and spend time learning dailyβ€”spend time daily studying or creating things that interest usβ€”not just β€œwhat we have to do”.

  • Do a daily personal reflection 'ritual'.

  • Do three acts of kindness daily.

Tips for New Year's Resolutions

When setting resolutions, make them specific and achievable. Break larger goals into smaller, manageable steps. Also, stay flexibleβ€”life happens, and adapting your goals can be empowering. Remember, it's about progress, not perfection.

What are your resolutions for this year? Let us know!

Oceans of love,
