Hello friends! We’ve done it! We’ve put a list together of products and brands we love and use so that you have all of the information in one place. If there’s anything else you’re curious about, let us know, but we’ll keep trying to update this list as we go.

Photography

Main Mirrorless Camera Equipment

• Camera body = Canon EOS R5 Mark II. It’s weather sealed, shoots 8K video, and it’s been our main camera since mid 2026.

• Lens = Canon RF 24-105mm f/2.8L IS USM Z. One lens that covers nearly everything we shoot.

• Memory = Lexar CFexpress Type B Diamond cards with a Lexar USB-C card reader.

• Spare batteries = Canon LP-E6P.

Other accessories:

• ND filters = NiSi JetMag Pro Landscape ND Kit 82mm. They’re magnetic, so they go on and off in seconds.

• Compact tripod = MeFOTO Backpacker S Aluminium Travel Tripod / Monopod Titanium

• Phone mount = SmallRig Arca-Standard Phone Support

Our Second Kit

• Camera body = We use the weather sealed Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II camera body. This is however now discontinued as they have released a brand spanking new Mark III.

• Camera lens 1 = M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 12-40mm F2.8 PRO /24-80mm (35mm equivalent)

• Camera lens 2 = Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 75-300mm F4.8-6.7 II Lens

• Spare battery and charger

GoPro

Ok honestly, we don’t LOVE GoPros. They seem to dislike the saltwater quite a lot and never seem to last long, but we’re yet to find a better alternative.

• Dive housing, dome, underwater filters, handle and mouth mount

• Bulk spare batteries

Insta360

• Insta360 ONE X2 - a small 360 steady cam. Meaning it's filming 360 degrees the whole time it's recording, so you'll never miss a shot. Once you've filmed, you can select your frames from any direction within the app. Oh, it's also waterproof to 10 metres!

• Accessories - such as invisible selfie sticks, screen protectors, etc.

Drones

Main drone:

• DJI Mavic 4 Pro with the DJI RC Pro 2 controller

• ND and polarising filters

• Bulk spare batteries and the parallel charging hub

Second drone:

• DJI Mavic 2 Pro

• ND Filters = DJI Mavic 2 Part 17 Pro ND Filters Set (ND4/8/16/32)

• CPL Filters = PolarPro DJI Mavic 2 Pro Filters Cinema Series Vivid Collection

Phone

• PolarPro phone cases and filters (CPL, ND 2-5, ND 4-8) and a DJI phone gimbal.

Editing

We mostly edit on our 16-inch MacBook Pro (M5 Max) and our M1 MacBook Pro, using:

• Adobe Suite - Lightroom Classic* and Photoshop for photographs.

• For video, we are versed in DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro.

• Canva for graphics, decks and social posts.

*Use Lightroom Classic, not CC.

Satellite Internet

• Starlink - we absolutely LOVE our Starlink. Sure, it comes with a bit of a price tag. However, when you're running a business from your sailing boat (or while road tripping), it's an absolute game-changer.

Diving

• Mask with GoPro Mount (Salvimar) - although we must say it's honestly not our favourite mask, and it seems to leak a fair bit of water, but the GoPro mount is handy.

• Sunbutter Reef Safe Sunscreen - we particularly love their tinted SPF50 water resistance sunscreen and surf zinc SPF50.

Note: We’re still on the hunt for a wetsuit, mask and fin brand which we fully recommend!

Lifestyle

Other Boat-Specific Things

Safety

• Garmin Sat Phone - this is our satellite phone and tracker. It also performs very basic weather checks. The weather checks are a real let down. We will be upgrading to an Iridium Go with Predict Wind.

• Personal AIS/MOB Beacons

• PLB Beacons

• Ocean Signal Epirbs

• Life jackets. We mainly use crewsavers and spinlocks. We LOVE our Spinlock VITO with HRS.

Wet Weather Gear

• We use The North Face 3 in 1 jackets. They usually have a gore-tex shell and puffer jacket, which you can wear together or separate.

• We got our sailing trousers from Lisa at Marina Outlet - she helped us find the perfect trousers for us, and for a really good price! We ended up with Musto and Henri Lloyd.

Marine Trimming

• Our portable industrial sewing machine is a Sail rite Ultrafeed LSZ-1. We actually chose to do the Premium Package, although the Basic Package would be more than enough for most needs. It’s fantastic! (note: we once tried a knock-off version called "Sailmate" which was atrocious!)

• We purchase our materials primarily from The Nolan Group and Bainbridge International.

Sails

• Rolly Tasker sails - Our experience with Rolly Tasker sails was really disappointing. Our brand-new sails arrived late and were made incorrectly, not matching the measurements and info we sent in via both email and text message (we did both to make sure there wouldn’t be room for error, lol). Fixing these errors cost us a lot and took a long time. Despite providing clear evidence of the measurements and information we sent through emails and texts, Rolly Tasker didn't assist at all. We've talked to other sailors who faced similar issues, so just a heads up!

• Ian Short sails - A much smaller business compared to Rolly Tasker, but their sails are fantastic!

• We've heard excellent reviews about Doyle Sails, although we haven't used them ourselves.

Other

• Rocna anchor paired with an ultra anchor swivel.

• Spectra water maker/desalinator.
