Come with us as we share who we are, how The Greener Two came to be, what it looks like now, and where we are heading next.
WHERE WE HAVE COME FROM
We both grew up in the Whitsundays, surrounded by 74 tropical islands, salt water, and small-town energy.
Our families crossed paths many times over the years, and we were even part of the same fishing club (but in different years). Our lives were running side by side, but we never actually met.
Eventually, we did. At 1am. In a nightclub.
That was the night Hayden shared his dream of sailing to remote surf spots through Indonesia and the South Pacific. Lily thought it sounded like a great idea. We started dating shortly after, and little by little, we began turning that dream into a real plan.
We have not made it sailing beyond Australia just yet, but this journey has already become more fulfilling than we ever imagined. Being able to blend the things we love, like nature, creating, adventure, and travel, and turn that into a life and career is something we feel incredibly grateful for.
THE BUSINESS ORIGIN STORY
We always knew we wanted a business that worked with our lifestyle, not against it.
The early days
In the beginning, we tried a little bit of everything. Everyone suggested we start YouTube because living and travelling on a sailboat was considered unique at the time. We gave it a go, but creating YouTube videos did not quite feel like us. We did not enjoy the process, even though we may revisit it one day.
We also made handmade sea glass jewellery from our beach clean-ups, did boat upholstery, and even sold digital products on Etsy. We were curious, willing to experiment, and happy to give things a crack to see what felt right.
But the thing we kept coming back to was content creation. Sharing experiences, telling stories, and bringing places to life through visuals felt natural for us. Instagram began as a hobby, but we realised it could help us build the kind of work we wanted to do in the future.
We never set out to become influencers, and even now the label does not feel like us. We always saw Instagram as a way to share meaningful stories and create opportunities, rather than to become “influencers” in the traditional sense. Our focus has always been on creating great content and helping people connect with places and experiences in a real way.
Out of all the things we tried, this is the one that made the most sense. Not because it “worked,” but because we genuinely loved it.
We love creating, and while it began from a place of passion, there has also been intention behind it. Over time, we became more thoughtful and strategic so that we could grow this path with purpose and keep doing what we love.
So… What Do We Actually Do?
We create premium, campaign ready content for tourism boards, outdoor brands, and experience driven businesses. Our work is ideal for region wide campaigns and destination marketing projects that need strategic, high quality assets. The kind that not only show what a place looks like, but what it feels like to be there.
A big part of The Greener Two is that we do not just create this kind of content. We live it. From ocean and watersports to the outback, mountains, and snow, we shoot the adventures we are already immersed in. We believe that brings a level of authenticity that you can feel in the final result.
Over time, our content has reached a large global audience through organic views, virality, and worldwide reposts. One reel on our page reached more than 32 million people, and a client reel we delivered has passed 25 million views.
Our work has been featured by LADbible, Beautiful Destinations, UNILAD, 9GAG and others. It has also appeared in an internationally distributed book, a short film, and a TV show.
Where our approach came from
From the beginning, one of the core drivers behind The Greener Two was to bridge the gap between content creation and real commercial value.
We could see the gap that often existed between content creators and the businesses trying to work with them. Expectations did not always align, the process felt unclear, and the final content did not always meet the needs of a campaign. We knew there was a better way.
With backgrounds in tourism, marketing, and creative industries, we built a model that supports both sides. One that combines structure, strategy, and creative direction with content that is genuinely aligned to a campaign, a message, and a purpose.
The Greener Two has never been about just having a drone, a camera, and an Instagram account. We built this as a real creative business, with direction, systems, strategy, and intention behind everything we deliver.
So What Did We Do Before This?
Hayden worked as a carpenter on large scale government projects, and Lily spent several years as a professional dancer. She completed the Advanced 2 qualification with the Royal Academy of Dance, which is one of RAD’s highest levels. It recognises elite technical proficiency and qualifies for the internationally awarded post nominal A.R.A.D.
These careers may seem unrelated to what we do now, but the skills we developed along the way still shape how we work today. Hands on creativity, precision, discipline, dedication, and a strong eye for detail have followed us into this business.
After her dance career, Lily moved into the travel industry. She worked for a travel wholesaler in New Zealand before stepping into content and marketing management roles at a national travel agency. She later progressed to effectively acting as general manager and second in charge to the managing director.
Hayden later joined the same company to lead the social media, and not long after, we both stepped away to focus on The Greener Two full time.
What began as a side project soon became the work that felt the most meaningful to us. Helping brands create content that truly connects has been both creatively fulfilling and professionally rewarding. It is not just about the visuals. It is the trust, the purpose, and the impact that make it worthwhile.
One of our clients recently shared, “Your passion and commitment have not gone unnoticed. The quality of your work is exceptional, and I genuinely believe it is some of the best we have ever done.”
And that is a big part of why we love what we do today.
Looking Ahead
We are excited to keep growing. Creatively, professionally, and geographically.
We want to explore more of the world through both sailing and land based tourism projects, and to keep capturing stories that connect people to nature, culture, and place.
Queensland will always be home for us, and we are proud to continue showcasing the wild and beautiful corners of the state and country we grew up in.
