BOAT LIFE

For over the last five years, we’ve made the ocean our home.

Days spent diving on untouched reefs, anchoring at remote islands, catching and cooking our own food, and having moments with nature that words can’t quite describe.

But, of course, it hasn’t always been smooth sailing.

We’ve gone through cyclones and plenty of storms aboard our 40-foot boat. Once, we even found ourselves washed up on a beach after an unpredicted squall… That one went straight to the “well, that didn’t go as planned” list.

Before We Set Sail

Before sailing, we spent a few years on a working road trip, living out of Shelly, our 75 Series LandCruiser Troopy, and saving hard.

This was when we first started our Instagram account. Not to grow a brand or build a business, but simply to share the places we found and to experiment with photography. We did it because we loved it, and we figured that building our skills would be valuable no matter what path we eventually took. We knew we wanted a business one day, but we had no idea what it would look like yet.

Eventually we bought our sailboat, Haven, and moved aboard.

We had both spent time on boats and in the ocean before, but sailing was completely new to us. As in, zero experience. What we did have was a dream and a shared desire to explore wild, untouched places and, hopefully, a few empty surf breaks along the way.
